Expert Forestry Consulting

To become an expert forester requires far more than earning a degree. It involves experience and continuing education, certifications, and organizational involvement. At Forest Land Services, Inc., we've been associated with the best practices in forestry for over 40 years.

As stated in the Association of Consulting Foresters of America's Code of Ethics, "An ACF Consulting Forester will cooperate in extending the effectiveness of the forestry profession by interchanging information and experience with other foresters and by contributing to the work of forestry societies, associations, schools, and publications."

Forest Land Services, Inc. (FLS) has done just that. Each state has different requirements for Forestry licensing and registration. To legitimately serve Pennsylvania and its surrounding states, FLS has obtained the necessary licenses, registrations, and memberships to adequately serve its customers.

Following is a list of the memberships, registrations and licenses obtained by FLS. For more information on the organization or license, please select the link of your choice below.

Association of Consulting Foresters of America

One of the most respected organizations in forestry is the Association of Consulting Foresters of America.

The ACF began in 1948 to help foresters take a united stand and bring credibility to the field. Once formed, the founding leaders wanted to ensure that only the most qualified foresters could claim membership. According to the ACF, membership requires a forestry degree from a college or university approved by the Executive Board and at least five years of practical experience in forest administration and management. Then the founders added the requirement that an applicant have at least one full year’s experience as an actual forestry consultant.

According to the ACF’s code of ethics, Consulting Foresters will utilize their knowledge and skill for the benefit of society, will advertise only in a dignified manner, and will only gain professional work on the basis of their experience, competency, and reputation.
