Timber Sale Administration
At Forest Land Services, Inc. (FLS), we offer full-scale timber management services.
When you are ready for your timber sale, we customize a sale for you to meet your goals and objectives.
Goals may include maximizing income, encouraging wildlife habitat, or even creating recreational opportunities. In most cases, we mark and measure each tree that is to be sold. We then prepare a timber sale prospectus, which is mailed to over 75 potential timber buyers. Sealed bids are offered and the owner has the right to accept or reject these bids if their minimum price is not achieved.
Once a bid is accepted, FLS inspects the sale during the harvesting process to protect the interest of the owner.
At the conclusion of the sale, FLS assures that all the roads have been smoothed and that all erosion and sedimentation controls have been implemented.
FLS keeps abreast of all the various markets and pricing of timber to help clients maximize their income.

Timber Inventory and Appraisal
If you are involved with estate planning, preparing a trust, or purchasing or selling a piece of property then our timber inventory and appraisal service is right for you.
A timber inventory prepared by Forest Land Services, Inc. provides the needed information to make the proper decisions in these cases. An inventory details the number of trees/acre by species, diameter class, volume and value, as well as a map of timber type, where appropriate.

Marcellus Gas Well and Windmill Turbine Timber Management
Prior the installation of a gas well or windmill turbine, timber must be removed. At FLS, we have assisted many landowners in maximizing their income from the sale of timber from cleared land. FLS is also experienced in designing and laying out the necessary access roads.

Regeneration and Tree Planting Services
Invasive species can damage your forest. If hay-scented fern or striped maple overruns portions of your forest area, we can assist you in procuring the necessary spraying applicators to help control these invasive species. Early action improves the regeneration, and ultimately the value, of your hardwood stand.
FLS also offers tree-planting services if you have barren areas or old fields you would like to establish in forest cover.
